KNAPP brings new technology to warehouse logistics.
Working with our customers all over the world,
As part of the installation of a new factory for drivetrain components in Kapfenberg (Austria), Pankl chose the flexible shuttle technology from KNAPP for the automation of the small parts warehouse with work station supply. Pankl develops, manufactures and sells engine and drivetrain systems as well as chassis parts for racing cars, high-performance vehicles and the aerospace industry. The new manufacturing site for high-performance motorcycle gearboxes including the new storage system, will start operation in 2017.
KNAPP AG looks back once again on a record year. In the past business year 2015/16, the Styrian intralogistics expert KNAPP AG increased its net revenue by 25 percent to 581.97 million euros and made a profit of 30.52 million euros. This tremendous result marks an all-time-high in the company history and is part of a long-term strategy for growth.
At Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG in Bad Mergentheim, Open Shuttles, the driverless warehouse vehicles by KNAPP, autonomously transport trays with articles from goods-in to an infeed point at the conveyor system. The Open Shuttles take the physical stress and strain off the employees: no more pallets must be formed at the goods-in stations that the employees used to have to transport to the infeed point and manually place on the conveyor.
The Open Shuttles by KNAPP find their way through the warehouse safely and quickly. The driverless transport vehicles are successfully operating at the Grene central warehouse in Denmark. In July 2012, Grene decided on a comprehensive expansion and a retrofit of the existing warehouse system to keep up with the growing market demands and to become equipped for multi-channel. Along with the heart of the solution, the goods-to-person picking system OSR Shuttle, the Open shuttles are now independently handling complex transport jobs.
