Maintenance Improver (m/f)


Overview of the Role:

The role will be based on an established customer site in the Leicester area, working continental shifts servicing and maintaining storage and retrieval equipment. The Maintenance Improver must be safety conscious, with a track record of owning problems and taking them through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventative maintenance and minor fault rectification on Electro mechanical handling equipment including – storage and retrieval equipment & Conveyors.
  • Diagnosing and repairing Hardware faults
  • Routine maintenance and inspection
  • To carry out continuous improvement projects focusing on the error handling, working closely with the customer and existing shift engineers and be able to deliver these to the site supervisor.
  • To carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyor, roller track and OSR systems
  • To carry out daily error handling on site automation and to provide documented continuous improvement ideas to areas of the system which are showing repeated errors


Qualifications, Skills and Experience


  • Experience of working on Electro mechanical equipment.
  • Preventative maintenance.
  • Routine maintenance and inspection
  • Team oriented.
  • Physically fit and be able to work at height


  • Ideally experience of working on conveyors, sorters, robots.
  • Qualified at least to City and Guilds level or NVQ Level 2 in a recognised discipline.
  • Worked with FMCG automation

Candidate Profile

  • Excellent in time keeping
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work as a team but also work independently if required

Technical Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
  • Knowledge of Electro Mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of three phase supply

General remarks

12-hour shifts (06:00 – 18:00/18:00 – 06:00). The site works all bank holidays including Christmas Day and New Years Day if shift pattern falls on these dates.

Working at height, MEWP PAV & 3b training to be provided as soon as date is available.
