KNAPP Leoben kicks off site expansion

KNAPP Systemintegration GmbH, headquartered in Leoben, continues their growth strategy by investing almost 11 million euros in the expansion of their site and other infrastructure measures. What’s more, the Styrian company is hiring 100 new employees.

With their sustainable growth strategy, tech company KNAPP has enjoyed several successful years. The company is pleased about a positive order situation, allowing them to grow in the long term. Being a member of the international KNAPP group, KNAPP Systemintegration GmbH in Leoben also has an optimistic outlook on the future. Within the coming year, the plan is to add around 100 new employees to the Leoben team. An expansion of this scale also requires some infrastructure measures. That’s why in the fall of 2021, KNAPP kicks off the site expansion for a new assembly and logistics hall. This hall is set to be completed by the summer of 2022.

Investment signals clear commitment to the region

Over recent years, KNAPP has been continually investing in expanding the Leoben site’s infrastructure. Along with new office space and parking, halls were created for factory acceptance tests, pre-assembly and product development. The current expansion has been the largest construction project in Leoben so far. Boasting almost 6,500 m2 (almost 70,000 ft2), the new building will provide an up-to-date environment for assembly work and logistics processes. The building was designed with an expansion model in mind. If necessary, additional office space for up to 100 workers can be created in the new building. Parking for another 140 cars will also be built. The implementation primarily focuses on energy-efficiency and environmental consciousness. The company has budgeted around 11 million euros for this project and further investments in the infrastructure.

“Our goal is to keep growing as a company, both in terms of the number of employees and in turnover. A growth of 50 percent is what we have set out to achieve. With the planned measures, we have set the course at our Styrian site and are fully prepared,” states Bernhard Rottenbücher, one of the three Managing Directors of KNAPP Systemintegration GmbH, confidently optimistic.
