What are your main responsibilities?

As an IT service administrator, I am responsible for server maintenance and making on-site checks at our customers around the globe. I check their entire IT infrastructure and also update and back up their operating system or firmware. On one day, I’ll be in the office planning my next appointments with our customers and organizing my trips or doing preparatory work for analyses. The next day, I’ll be on my way to visit a customer.

What kind of education, experience or interests should you have for your job?

Vocational training in IT is definitely an advantage, whether you’ve completed an apprenticeship, graduated from a secondary technical school or HTL, or finished university with a degree in IT. In general, the more experience and expertise you have working with networks, servers and virtualizations, the better. Another even more important requirement for the job as IT service administrator is being willing to travel, since we serve customers from all corners of the world. In summary, you should be open-minded, communicative, flexible and, above all, customer oriented.

My job:

Exciting. Challenging. Eventful.

What part of your job do you find especially fun?

I really like being able to work independently. I’m responsible for planning visits to customers and for delivering our IT service products. That leads me to the next thing I really like about my job: traveling. As an IT service administrator, I get to travel the whole world and get to know different countries and cultures. I have made quite a few good memories, ones I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. For example, I recently got a tattoo in Los Angeles. It’s of a compass to remind me of the great experiences I’ve had traveling.

Why do you enjoy working at KNAPP?

Even though the company is big, the atmosphere is really friendly. Above all, I really appreciate the way my team works together. We exchange ideas regularly and ask each other for advice whenever we have a problem. That’s extra important to me because I spend a lot of time at the company due to my work. My team members are more than just my coworkers – they’re my friends, and my colleagues have become like a second family to me. And KNAPP offers some great benefits too.
