OSR Shuttle™ Evo optimizes processes in production and distribution

The OSR Shuttle™ Evo is an automated small parts warehouse that securely stores various types of goods or raw materials in a space-efficient manner. Various sizes of containers, cartons and trays with loads of up to 50 kilograms (110 lb) can be stored multi-deep or stacked in the shuttle system. This is what makes the OSR Shuttle™ Evo the heart of intelligent and efficient processes in production and distribution. The flexibility of the shuttle system is what allows it to handle so many different processes, such as:

For rapid growth, a flexible warehouse system in next to no time: The Open Shuttle Store

The Open Shuttle Store is a simple and scalable storage solution based on AGV technology. The storage system is rapidly available and easy to adapt thanks to its high level of standardization. For storage, the system includes Store Units, which are rack modules that can easily be installed in existing buildings and arranged as needed. Autonomous mobile robots (Store Bots) navigate between the Store Units to store and retrieve containers. The Store Bots transport the required containers to transfer points (Exchange Stations), where they receive further processing, either manually or automatically. The Open Shuttle Store is a complete stand-alone storage system, cost-efficient by design and well-suited for low to medium throughput.

For container transport, the Open Shuttle Store combines well with
Open Shuttles. The small, nimble AMRs pick up containers at the Exchange Station of the warehouse system and transport them on to work stations located elsewhere.

The fleet management software KiSoft FCS is used to control the transport resources of a warehouse. KiSoft FCS also controls the autonomous mobile robots (Store Bots) in the storage system.

The goods-to-person work station is suitable for the following manual warehouse tasks: order picking, returns processing, inventory, repacking and merging of goods, or value-added services. Behind the Pick-it-Easy work station, there is a picking robot, an automatic storage system, and an autonomous mobile robot.

The Open Shuttle Store can be combined with Pick-it-Easy work stations to serve as a picking system. Exchange Stations and a conveyor system form the interface between the storage system and the Pick-it-Easy work stations, where articles supplied from the storage system are picked efficiently and ergonomically.

Scalable storage tower for containers, trays and more: Fastbox

The Fastbox is a rapid storage and buffer tower with a lift system. Usually connected to a Pick-it-Easy work station, it perfectly complements a storage system such as the OSR Shuttle™. A Fastbox is incredibly useful as a rapid buffer, for example, buffering

  • Fast-moving articles, to process fast-moving articles from the OSR Shuttle™ Evo
  • Order containers
  • Containers prior to sequencing and sorting, such as for a packing pattern calculation at the work station

Like the shuttle systems, the Fastbox is scalable in size and designed according to the proven principle of parts commonality. It processes containers, cartons and trays. The Fastbox complies with the strictest safety standards in the same way as the OSR Shuttle™ Evo and also has a standard energy concept.

Stacker cranes

Hundreds of our stacker cranes are in operation around the world. Systems using high-bay racking, silo type constructions and designs for use within a hall are available. The stacker cranes store diverse load carriers in single- and multiple-deep racks.

The projects we realize have huge dimensions: The rack line systems for pallet stacker cranes can be over 200 m long and 30 m high (roughly 650 by 100 feet). Stacker cranes are also ideal for use in cold-storage and deep freeze areas. Besides efficiently storing goods, the stacker cranes can also supply flow racks when required. Our stacker cranes provide outstanding energy efficiency and intelligent energy management. KiSoft or SAP® EWM by KNAPP handle stacker crane control, completing the all-in-one solution from a single source.
