What are your main responsibilities?
KNAPP has a customer hotline which is part of the Service Desk. Our customers can call if there is an issue requiring our support. When there are mechanical or electrical issues, that’s where my colleagues and I come into play. Based on the information the customer gives us, I use a PLC program to connect with the respective system and try to find the cause as well as the solution. If a mechanical part is at fault, the error can be easily rectified. For more complex problems, I first create a temporary workaround, so the customer can continue to work, and then I take a step back and work to find a permanent solution.
What kind of education, experience or interests should you have for your job?
You should absolutely have experience with PLC technology and electrical engineering because these form the main part of this job. You should be a solution-oriented person who enjoys communicating with customers from around the world and who enjoys working in a team.

What part of your job do you find especially fun?
What I really like is that I can give my creativity free rein and can implement my own ideas. In the analysis and rectification of problems, I have a great deal of freedom with regard to the approach to the solution.
Collegiality and being a team player are also important. When someone on the team cannot progress with a problem, we help each other out and troubleshoot together.
Why do you enjoy working at KNAPP?
