In the summer of 2020, SELFAR Thessaloniki will open a brand-new, ultramodern subsidiary in the west of Thessaloniki. This logistics centre is designed to help SELFAR provide faster and enhanced delivery services to their customers. The pharmaceutical wholesaler chose an all-in shuttle solution by KNAPP for the company expansion. At the heart of the logistics centre is the OSR Shuttle™ Evo system comprising two rack line systems. Two Pick-it-Easy work stations ensure highly ergonomic picking of medium and slow-moving articles based on the goods-to-person principle. The high-performance SDA takes care of processing fast-moving articles.

The new SELFAR logistics centre in Thessaloniki was essential to the company’s expansion. Today goods are dispatched from the distribution centre on motorbike around the clock to cover the immediate requirements and urgent orders of pharmacies. The site is located in a strategic location in the city that allows the wholesaler to reach even the remotest pharmacies within minutes. Each day, around 750 orders leave the warehouse, delivered by 13 employees using 7 motorbikes who make sure that all pharmaceuticals and parapharmaceutical products are delivered.
