Overview of the Role:

It is expected that all engineers will possess proven experience of dealing with electro-mechanical faults and preventative maintenance operations within a warehouse environment. Reporting to the Site Manager, the team of Support Engineers will be eager though safety conscious, with a track record of owning problems and taking them through to successful completion. Every team member will be required to respond out of hours in an emergency situation. This emergency cover will be scheduled within the team and is not a permanent requirement. European travel for training may be a requirement.

Tasks & Functions:

  • Organise / assist in breakdown maintenance of site automation as required
  • Organise Planned Preventative Maintenance of automation equipment
  • Organise / assist in breakdown reports and shift logs including any issues arising on shift which may have or had an effect on the performance of the site equipment and / or the maintenance department
  • Attend daily meetings & liaise with operations to ensure workload is prioritised correctly
  • Organise / undertake, improvement, repairs and modifications
  • Organise / assist in project installation work including cost reduction activities
  • Provide / assist facility maintenance cover when necessary
  • Organise / manage spare parts and warranty components
  • Deputise for the Site Manager
  • Any other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of this role

Essential

  • A recognised engineering qualification (ONC minimum) ideally HNC or above
  • Hold an IOSH certificate & adhere to all company/ customer legislative and H&S procedures
  • Hold a recognised apprenticeship in an engineering field (ideally a blue chip company)
  • Be flexible and self-motivated
  • Computer Literate, MS Office / CMMS systems
  • Have experience in man management, but also a team player with excellent problem solving skills
  • Possess a full current driving licence, as business use will be essential
  • Acts at all times as an ambassador for the business, building and maintaining good relationships with customers, colleagues & managers.

Desirable

  • Learn company administrative procedures, and how to complete worksheets, time sheets etc
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controls (PLC’s) Ideally Siemens S7
  • A relevant IEE wiring qualification (17th Edition)
