What are your
main responsibilities?

Every service delivery manager in our team has a set of customers assigned to them for which they are responsible. My day begins with coordination meetings with my customers. We call these our “daily stand-ups” in which we discuss any issues and concerns we have or analyze incidents that have occurred during warehouse operation. From the results of our meetings, we add tasks that have become necessary to the “to do” list. I’m responsible for coordinating these tasks which includes forwarding them to the responsible departments for further processing. Keeping track of key figures is also a big part of my work every day. At least once a month, I provide our customers with a comprehensive report presenting numbers and analyses on the different key performance indicators, the KPIs.

What kind of education, experience or interests should you have for your job?

When it comes to our customers, listening openly to their concerns and being the friendly contact for them are important to my job. What this means, of course, is having strong language skills: Being proficient in German and in English for everyday communication is a must. Any additional language skills are a plus. To be able to take the best care of customers’ needs, you also need an appropriate education, for example, a technical degree from a secondary technical school, university of applied sciences or any other applicable university degree. However, you can also qualify by having a comparable practical experience. Programing skills are ideal to have and you will also need to know your way around a database. Logistics know-how per se is not really necessary for getting started, but being interested in our products and processes is key.

My job:

 Communication. Openness. Effectiveness.

What do you like about your job in particular?

We are a strong team which definitely embodies the KNAPP spirit. We all pull together working on our shared goals and you can feel this in our team’s dynamics. We have an informal atmosphere at work and support each other. This keeps me motivated to find solutions to the challenges that come in and I enjoy the time with my colleagues at the office.

Why do you enjoy working at KNAPP?

Working in an international environment is very important to me, which is not only a natural part of my job, it’s really par for the course at the company. Diverse people from different cultures with different ways of working come together under one roof, which is all part of KNAPP’s success. When many different points of view and perspectives come together, innovative ideas are born that are potentially game-changing for our company. Personally, I also benefit from continually learning about new technologies and really expanding my horizons.
