Yes, SAP® EWM by KNAPP can also be integrated with non-SAP® ERP systems – through middleware or interfaces, for example. KNAPP has far-reaching experience in doing just that from a number of successful projects. From a technical and strategic point of view, however, we recommend planning the solution in combination with SAP® ERP, as this makes integration seamless and lowers the effort associated with implementation.

Yes, SAP® EWM by KNAPP can be integrated with non-SAP® warehouse control systems through standardized interfaces. In addition, SAP® EWM offers an integrated MFS (material flow system) module for controlling automated warehouse technology. The module makes direct communication between conveyors and control systems possible without any additional middleware.

One example of a compatible warehouse control system is KiSoft WCS by KNAPP, which can also be integrated into EWM environments.

Whether it’s better to install SAP® EWM embedded in S/4HANA or decentralized depends on the level of automation in your warehouse and on your process requirements.

  • Embedded is ideal for companies with low to medium levels of automation and uncomplicated material flow who are looking for tight integration into SAP® ERP processes.
  • Decentralized is better for complex, highly automated warehouses with high throughput and special control requirements.
