On April 23, the KNAPP Managing Board, Gerald Hofer, Franz Mathi and Christian Grabner officially broke ground for the company daycare centre at the Hart bei Graz headquarters. The KNAPP-Kinderwelt daycare centre opens in September and offers daycare for about 50 children, 0 to 6 years of age.

Attractive daycare offer
Along with flexible working hours, the company daycare centre makes it easier for parents to return to work after maternity or parental leave, supporting the work-life balance for families in the company. KNAPP-Kinderwelt is distinguished through its flexible hours: The centre is open year-round on all work days for 12 hours, and offers care for school children to age 10 during the school holidays. KNAPP-Kinderwelt is headed by the experienced educators from WIKI Kinderbetreuung. The company cafeteria provides meals for the children, at no cost to children of employees.

“It is important to us to provide our employees with an attractive work environment. This includes professional challenges and opportunities for development, as well as comprehensive social benefits and a family-friendly corporate culture. Company daycare is a project which lies close to the heart and is a milestone in our company history,” said Gerald Hofer, CEO of KNAPP AG.

Cosy and welcoming new building
KNAPP AG purchased a 2,000 m² lot directly next to headquarters for the construction of the KNAPP-Kinderwelt centre. Floorspace for the building is 460 m². Two nursery groups and one kindergarten group are housed under one roof. The low-energy building with wood frame construction was designed by architect Christian Meier.

Placement at the daycare
Depending on availability, the KNAPP-Kinderwelt is also open to children from the community. The costs for the parents are socially adjusted and in accord with the requirements of the Styrian government.
