ivii and Ubimax start Global Strategic Partnership

Ubimax, leading provider of Augmented Reality (AR) based wearable computing solutions, and the KNAPP subsidiary ivii GmbH, pioneer in vision picking and intelligent image processing, announce their strategic cooperation. The cooperation is legally protected by the exclusive license for the ivii vision picking patent, which is now available to all direct and indirect ivii and Ubimax customers within the framework of a licensing agreement.

The global partnership between Ubimax and ivii combines market and innovation leadership in the field of industry 4.0. The youngest Ubimax channel partner ivii was the first company worldwide to carry out several successful productive vision picking pilots – already in 2008 at that time still as a separate business unit of KNAPP AG. In 2011, the vision picking patent for visual support of picking orders was granted. After seven years of intensive research and development, ivii was founded in 2016 as a spin-off of KNAPP AG. With the stable background of the internationally active group, ivii has since conquered the market for intelligent image processing as an independent, dynamic company.

The cooperation promises both companies an even faster and broader market penetration through the bundling of vision picking experience of more than 15 years together. For more than 200 customers and global partners of Ubimax and ivii, the exclusive vision picking solution gives them an edge over their competitors in the market. Established global service and support processes as well as a broad existing customer base with companies such as DHL, Samsung or Schnellecke Logistics and last but not least, Ubimax’s vision picking solution xPick, which has proven itself over several years of productive use, speak for the cooperation.

However, the new partnership does not only focus on the joint vision picking solution. As Ubimax technology partner, ivii complements the entire Ubimax Frontline range. Based on algorithm-controlled processes, ivii.software offers innovative and proven image recognition and image processing solutions for reliable quality control in industrial process steps. With the integration into Ubimax Frontline, ivii.software enhances the existing Ubimax Frontline offering especially in the field of artificial intelligence. The ivii image recognition app can now be flexibly integrated into various industrial processes on wearable computing devices using Ubimax’ graphical Frontline Creator.
