KNAPP and Apostore are combining their efforts in pharmaceutical order processing. KNAPP has strengthened the cooperation with the KHT group of companies, which began in 2012, by acquiring a 49 percent share of Apostore. “This step is a logical consequence of our business development. Apostore revolutionized the world of autopickers for pharmacy and is active in 16 countries. We are putting aside important potential in other sectors and markets. With KNAPP, we gain immediate access and free up resources for our pharmacy business,” stated Dr Jürgen Gessner, managing partner for Apostore.

A 100 percent subsidiary of KHT, Apostore was the first company to offer picking robots for small parts with emphasis on pharmaceuticals and is specialized stock management in automation and logistics in pharmacies. In both 2011 and 2013, Apostore was voted as one of the TOP-100 most innovative companies in Germany and as best partner in pharmaceutical autopickers in 2013.

KNAPP completes its value creation chain in its core business area pharmaceuticals, and offers a completely new solution for pharmaceutical wholesaling in pharmacies and hospitals. “Apostore, in our opinion, has the best automation technology on the market. Putting this technology on top of proven KNAPP standards allowed us to quickly complete the KNAPP-Store and get it ready for market entry,” stated KNAPP CEO Gerald Hofer with satisfaction. The first projects realized are very successful and we have further orders in the pipeline. With this step, KNAPP proves its position in the market as intralogistics innovator.
