KNAPP presents picking robot at LogiMAT 2017

Press information: Published on in Technology

Research, development and innovation have always ranked high in KNAPP tradition. In more than 60 years of company history, KNAPP has been making a significant impact on intralogistics. Among these game-changing innovations are the SDA autopicker and the OSR Shuttle System. With the newest developments for the KiSoft Vision technologies as well as with the KNAPP-Store or the Pick-it-Easy Robot for robotic picking, KNAPP tackles current trends such as the zero-defect strategy or same-day/next-day delivery, and presents its innovations March 14-16 at the LogiMAT in Stuttgart.

At the centre of Logistics 4.0 is the intelligent, networked intralogistics system. One aspect is the use of industrial robots. In intralogistics, the demands on robots and sensors are very high: Object recognition and the pick process are highly complex, and to successfully implement this process, many components must work together harmoniously.

Pick-it-Easy Robot
With the Pick-it-Easy Robot, KNAPP takes an important step forward in the Industry 4.0 era: The picking robot unites high performance with maximum flexibility and error-free picking in one system. The robot has become the co-worker of the person – thanks to the Pick-it-Easy Robot, better distribution of the work load and up to a fourfold increase in productivity are possible. The robot’s great advantage: It can be retroactively integrated into existing intralogistics systems. KNAPP has not only hit an important milestone in intralogistics with the development of the Pick-it-Easy Robot, but has also added a valuable solution component for the zero defect warehouse – KNAPP’s interpretation of an intelligent and networked factory.
