KNAPP Systemintegration celebrates expansion of its site and opens new company cafeteria

On July 2, 2014, KNAPP Systemintegration celebrated the expansion of its site in Leoben with 100 guests in politics and business. The company is a 100% subsidiary of KNAPP AG, a business operating around the globe. Guests had the opportunity to visit the new premises and then indulged in the culinary delights offered in the new company cafeteria. The increasing growth of the KNAPP Group with altogether four sites in Styria ensures new momentum in the region.

KNAPP on the course of expansion
KNAPP has set big goals in Leoben for the year 2020: expanding the current team of 320 employees to 500 and increasing the turnover to more than 100 million euros. An expansion in this range also requires certain infrastructure measures. For this reason the business decided to invest 5.4 million euros in the company site and started the construction work in October 2013. The company also added a cafeteria and a hall with a floor space of 2,090 sqm to accommodate test installations, a show room and a dispatch area in the future.

Green facilities with regional cuisine
The cafeteria featuring a floor space of 700 sqm was created in minimal time, with a construction period of only eight months. The cafeteria has become a perfect place to relax and enhance creativity, for members of staff as well as for customers and partners. The philosophy behind the cafeteria shows the company’s high emphasis on their employees’ health and well-being: the cafeteria offers freshly cooked meals and tasty local cuisine with fresh ingredients from the region. To make sure up to 500 employees will have sufficient space for creativity in the future, being able to expand the facility in the future was a big issue in the design concept. The company can add up to three additional office floors to the building whenever necessary. The new building is highly energy-efficient and environment-conscious and offers energy consumption from ecological resources with a water heating pump. In addition, the building has a modern cooling system that uses the underground water.

The outdoor space will provide additional 86 parking spaces, bike racks, a dispatch ramp as well as the required percolation system to drain surface water.
