KNAPP was contracted to build the largest shuttle system in the world for Hugo Boss

Press information: Published on in Fashion

Hugo Boss, international lifestyle concern and world market leader in the premium and luxury segment has commissioned KNAPP with the automatization of its new distribution centre in Filderstadt bei Stuttgart.  With 400,000 storage locations, the OSR Shuttle is the world’s largest system of its kind.

Hugo Boss is investing almost 100 million euros in the entire project, located near the Stuttgart airport. The OSR Shuttle selected by Hugo Boss offers the required flexibility to react to future changes in the market and to be able to quickly and efficiently react to the various demands of the different sales channels. Direct storage of full cases, the immediate availability of the items after goods in and the high throughput are other reasons that make putting a shuttle system by KNAPP into operation the best choice. Picking is carried out at the highly ergonomic work stations of the Pick-it-Easy series, according to the goods-to-person procedure.

Startup of the 23,400 square metre logistics centre is planned for 2014.
