Efficient automation for store delivery
Dagab Inköp & Logistik AB is a Swedish logistics company specializing in the storage and delivery of food articles. Founded in 1974, the company is part of the Axfood Group since 2000 and employs about 1,000 people.
As a subsidiary of Axfood, Dagab is responsible for the logistics processes and for supplying the stores. The Jönköping distribution centre supplies up to 600 stores and small distribution centres with fresh food. In order to make the processes at the Jönköping site as economical and error-free as possible, Dagab opted for KNAPP's FAST Picking solution. The fully automatic concept minimises the physical strain on employees and the orders are processed quickly and efficiently.

Incoming goods, depalletization and destacking
Automatic depalletization and destacking
An employee records the delivered goods in the system and sends the pallets to the fully automatic depalletizing machines. In the first step, the pallet is separated from the handling units. In the second step, the stacks are divided and are then fed into the destacking machines. Machines separate the handling units from the stack on a layer-by-layer basis so that the goods can be transferred onto trays for storage.
Vision Scan-Tunnel
For easy and error-free invoicing of articles sold by weight, the Vision Scan-Tunnel records the weight and barcodes.
The recorded data is automatically made available to the higher-level system.
Manual depalletization
Mixed pallets are depalletized at a manual work station. Employees transfer the articles onto the trays at an ergonomically designed Pick-it-Easy work station.
The Pick-it-Easy decanting work station combines optimum ergonomics with usability: the unique design concept is the perfect goods-to-person solution that combines ergonomics, multi-functionality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness and design.
Storage, sequencing and picking
Shuttle system as the heart of the system
In 3 rack line systems on 15 levels, 7,200 storage locations are available for space-saving storage and efficient order processing. As soon as the order data for the supply of stores is available, the KNAPP KiSoft software triggers the retrieval of the corresponding articles from the shuttle system.
Store-friendly pallets with KiSoft Pack Master
KiSoft Pack Master calculates the optimal packing arrangement for store-specific assembly of the pallets, taking into account the handling unit and article master data. Based on this calculation, the Shuttle-System retrieves the articles in the optimal sequence.
Stacking, palletizing and goods out
Automatic stacking and palletizing
In the first step, the machines remove the handling units from the trays and assemble them into stable stacks. Trays which are not completely emptied are stored in the Shuttle System again.
In the second step, the stacks formed are pushed onto a pallet fully automatically. A wrapping machine secures the finished pallet for transport before the address label is attached.
Manual palletizing
Small orders and mixed pallets with different recipients are picked manually at another Pick-it-Easy work station.
An employee brings the finished pallets to the goods-out area for dispatch.
